World renowned authority on color, Pantone LLC, has announced that the color of 2011 is Honeysuckle. A happy shade of pink with a reddish undertone, honeysuckle brings bright possibilities to events for any season. Being that this color is exceedingly complementary to almost all others; incorporating it to design and décor elements will be effortless and fun. Here are some items of inspiration I found!

Anthropologie has made a bold statement with this ombre shower curtain. I can see this having multiple uses outside the louvre; a fab backdrop for a dessert table or a DIY photo booth. You could also use this as a room divider if you are hosting at home.

Occasions Catering’s tabletop design is by far one the most gorgeous I’ve seen. Mixing the different floral families gives this center piece depth; and the color palette gives a dainty and feminine feel for the table.

How cool is this multicolored layered cake? You could create your cake to coordinate with your party’s color palette, use vanilla or butter cream frosting and surprise your guests when it’s time to… Let Them Eat Cake.  Thanks Martha Stewart for such and awesome idea.

So you see, honeysuckle is a hue of endless possibilities? How will you incorporate the color of the year at your next event?
