Firstly, I am just barely a Doer. I have been blogging and "in business" for less than a year. I feel I must disclose that. But, I wanted to just encourage the dreamers out there with something I have learned in all of this craziness. Are you ready for it? It's earth shattering, so prepare yourself. Here it is: Slow and steady really does win the race. It is as simple as that.
In the beginning I felt like I needed to rush to get everything just right, right then. It turns out you really do learn as you go. For a while I was frustrated, feeling like my blog was gaining no readership (I now have 20 followers, ha!) But, recently, I found this site and had a photo featured this week. I also became a member of The (incredible) Artisan Group and have learned so much in just two days. And today I secured a guest post feature on a blog that has 1200 followers. These may seem like small things, but this has truly felt like a big week. Things are moving and at a very fine pace. Because, while this new venture is exciting and I look forward to seeing where it goes, I also have three little ones at home and they aren't growing at a turtle's pace.
So I guess what I am saying is dream big, work hard but don't rush. As my father always says, "Enjoy every phase of your life, because once it's gone, it's gone and you can't go back."

"It only took me four years to become an overnight success.............."
You are right - success is like a snowball - keep pushing it around and it will get bigger.

Comment by Victoria Silva on June 27, 2011 at 11:11am This is such a great post... I myself work at a pace that is comfortable for me... and connects me to my own inner voice... and my own truth.
Patience... dedication and faith in yourself... works wonders when you are creating your dream.
