It has been a while since my last post about my
favourite cheesecake.
But I have good excuses, guys.
2 months ago my friends and I started planning the 30th birthday of our dearest friend Kris. Her boyfriend Jeff planned a true birthday marathon starting from Friday until Sunday doing all kinds of things!
And I thought my job would be to prepare her a nice little dessert-table with all sweet treats she loves (and hopefully all of her friends too).
I took 3 days off to get everything in order as far as baking, crafting, planning etc. I had quite a few things on my agenda that needed to be done.
So Wednesday I made the Cake Pops and Cake Bites, Thursday I baked Vanilla and Chocolate Cupcakes, Friday I made the
most delicious cheesecake and a Vanilla Layer cake.
In between my baking marathon I ran all around town to check out apartments (yes I want to move) - I had quite many appointments and did not want to miss any (which I should have, I know now haha).
On Friday evening we all went to an observatory. We were round about 20 people and it was a blast! Ok it was very cold but we all made it and shared bursts of laughter throughout the whole evening while looking at Jupiter etc. :-)
When I got home I still needed to crumb coat and frost the Vanilla Layer cake, I was done at around 1.30am - literally done. But I had so much fun doing it. Obviously, otherwise my body would have striked.
So Saturday, the big day:
The plan was to go to the Casino with all the party guests at around 8pm. Before though, Diego, Maren and I needed to get all the decoration stuff to Kris' apartment without her noticing it.
Jeff and her went out to a restaurant at 5.30pm and when Jeff messaged us that they left the building, we packed all our stuff (like 10 huge bags and more with plates, cutlery, candles, cupcake stands, blankets, etc.) and went there in a hurry.
The dessert table:
I had it all in my head but did not really know how it will look like in the end (did not try it out on the table once) - so it was a bit of an exciting time before we started decorating.
Diego, Maren and I decorated the dessert table and I was so greatful to have them - I could not have done all of this just by myself :-)
It's funny though, when people see dessert tables, most of them probably think it's not much of a big deal. It is though. Ok it's nice to look at, but ohmygod nobody knows how much work it is. It's hilarious. Our dessert table is not even a huge one like so many others you can see on the web. So kudos to all the party planners out there, it's such a crazy job - you have to think about so many details, but the outcome, ohmy - I was so happy! (I think it would have been less stressful if I did not bake haha)
We already loved it with no desserts on it :-) Before and after...
Yummy Oreo Cupcake Pops in yellow and violet incl golden sprinkles, of course :-)

Please read on...
I decorated these candle jars with golden and violet glitter so it fits the whole theme. Will post a how-to in a bit. It's easy and looks so awesome!

The cake bites with vanilla candy melts and even more with a drip on top. Yum!
I chose to make Vanilla and Chocolate cupcakes. I used two different frostings, white chocolate and creamcheese.
Yummy Vanilla Layer Cake (violet faded colors) with Vanilla Frosting, made with vanilla beans: truly amazing taste!
Our alltime favourite, the New York Style Cheesecake
The birthday child :-) She was overwhelmed by all these surprises all weekend. Tired and overwhelmed.
Unfortunately it's not everyone. It was already 2am or something, we should have made group photos way earlier - so many people are missing in these pictures.
Here is a list with most recipes I made for the birthday.
-
Oreo Cake Pops and
Cake Bites
-
New York Cheesecake
-
Chocolate Cupcakes with creamcheese frosting
-
Vanilla Cupcakes with white chocolate frosting
Two are still missing:
- Vanilla Layer Cake (coming soon) and
- Violet Velvet Cake Pops.
This is it.
Hope you like what we did, it was such a great weekend!!
You are very welcome to add me on

Have a good week,
Blessings...niner
