The Woman on the Roof

Have you ever heard of the story of the man on the roof?

Well as the story goes, During a flood a man is sitting on his roof. Men and rescue workers come by with boats, multiple times and the man keeps saying the same thing. I'm waiting for God to help me. The man dies in the flood. Upon reaching Heaven the Man speaks with God and asks; "God, why didnt you help me?" God answers " How many boats do I need to send you?"

Yesterday I realized I am the person on the…

Soap Making in Haiti

Jennifer Jack, owner of Good Fortune, recently traveled to Port Au Prince, Haiti to teach soap making to over 50 people at For His Glory Orphanage. Each class was packed with adults eager to learn a new trade in hopes of earning money to rebuild, cloth, and feed their families. When told that 100% of the money from this soap would come back them in a few weeks, applause broke out! Humbly, I thank you, because $5 is one week’s salary in Haiti, and your purchase is making a HUGE difference in… Continue

An Approach to Faith

by Dr. Napoleon Hill

Here is a story which we would like to pass on to you. A man was driving from Los Angeles to Palm Springs, rolling along just fine - until his car stopped dead. He tried the starter repeatedly, but not a cylinder would fire. Being a business man and no mechanic, he didn't know the first thing about the mechanics of his car. But he got out,… Continue

Having Faith the Size of a Mustard Seed!

I am overjoyed to have been selected as the Doer of the Week winner. I’ve

always had a passion for decorating, but from the moment I stepped into Grace

Centers of Hope in Pontiac, Mich., I knew I had to do more with my passion than

simply make pretty spaces. I was being called to make a difference for women who

were going through unimaginable difficulties—some of whom had never seen much in

the way of beauty. The most challenging part of all this was that I didn’t… Continue

Living with Integrity

By Zig Ziglar

”What I do is who I am” Chris Schenkel. Several years ago I heard about an ad placed in a sports magazine advising hunters how not to scatter their shots. The ad said, “For one dollar we’ll give you that information.” Many people sent their dollar and the advice was, “Just use one shot.” While the ad was deceptive, and I’m certain many of the respondents were irritated at being taken in, the advice was good.

This is Good!

The story is told of a king in Africa who had a close friend with whom

he grew up. The friend had a habit of looking at every situation that

ever occurred in his life (positive or negative) and remarking, "This

is good!"

One day the king and his friend were out on a hunting expedition. The

friend would load and prepare the guns for the king. The friend had

apparently done something wrong in preparing one of… Continue

Doer of The Week...Keeping the Faith While Facing Mountains

Growing up, I always felt God had a big plan for my life, but it took many

wide paths and mistakes to realize I would never know my true calling until I

was true to myself. When I began to release my fears, travel the narrow path,

step away from my ego and stop worrying so much about the how, when and

where, only then was I able to get around the mountain to see the rainbow.

For me, decorating has always been a way to nurture my soul, but it wasn't until

I… Continue
