Pound cakes are so popular I decided to welcome the changing season (early September 22, 2012 the Fall season begins) with a blood orange white chocolate pound cake. As many of you already know DF enjoys pound cake; Sydney and I were lucky to be able to photograph this cake before he…Continue

I love to bake and every year for my 3 son's birthdays I make a special cake for each of them. My sons range in age from almost 19, 15 and 7. My oldest attends Parson's college for photography and films and photographs a lot of my paris house business and work. One of my favorite cakes is this adorable Teddy Bear cake I saw in Martha Stewart Living. It is absolutely so delicious and easy to make. Martha gave step by step easy instructions in her magazine and website. I highly recommend it.…Continue

I've had this little footstool for seven or eight years. A couple of years ago, it got stained pretty badly and ever since, it's been confined to hiding. I didn't want to get rid of it because it's a great little stool, with a seat that lifts for a bit of storage. Since I've been repainting walls and furniture, I figured it…Continue

Looking forward to the crisp cool days of fall and all of the fun festivals, and events that come with it. I set up some of my display for Halloween yesterday at my shop here in Mason. Sydney introduced me to cherry blossom flavor in late March; since that moment we have been experimenting using the extract and sugars in a plethora of recipes. Over this past weekend Sydney suggested we try cherry blossom marshmallows, however the flower blooms during the spring months. I am…Continue

I was preparing a kiwi strawberry salad when I had an epiphany: kiwi strawberry macarons for a late August flavor. Sydney adores macarons, in fact we always have macarons in our house for her and her friends to snack on. I described my flavor macaron fusion to Sydney, who thought the macaron would be…Continue

Photos are one of the two main reasons we scrapbook right? (Just in case you’re wondering, the story that goes along with the photo should be the other reason.) So how do you feel about altering those photos before you scrap them? Do you even take the time? Do you wrestle with the scruples of doing such a thing like I do?
Well…. yes…I find myself on the proverbial fence about making alterations to photos (especially those of myself) that for all accounts will last much, much, much,…Continue

Sydney and I are always on the look for new tips/tubes for our kitchen; I happened to purchase a set with a #070 ruffle tip/tube. We had worked with quite a few of the ruffle tips/tubes, however we hadn’t had the opportunity to work with tip/tube #070, coincidentally I came across an Ombre…Continue
