Congratulations, Teresa. You have definitely found a need and have come up with a creative way to fill it. You are right -- crochet can be frustrating at times! It is great how you have helped the left handed crocheter as well! Nicely done, Teresa...

Carrie, I can SO understand how hard it is to work/create when very small children are at home. My boys are older now (almost 12 & 14), and it is still difficult to find time occasionally. I LOVE your tote bags! The one with the apple looks like ...

Yes, I weave the fabric! I've been weaving for over 10 years. It's my thing! The design is my own; working with handwoven lace is a bit trickier than working with factory made fabric. Thanks for the kind words! Kate :)

Wow... I was about to ask the same thing as Celeste- did you seriously make that on your own?

Your things are beautiful Kate, you actually weave the fabric? Wow!!

I manufacture natural and organic lip balms which we offer as fund raising items to charitable foundations. My goal if I win the 2500 is to make as many lip balms and raise even more funds. My ultimate goal is to be the largest single fund raiser...

Well done, Terry! I can't think of a more worthy recipient of this gift. You will continue to inspire me. I hope that there will be a way for all of us to keep track of what we're doing after this year's "Doers" program winds down. Best wishes to ...

I recently just started teaching a program called "Go Green!" To reach the largest audience, I would use the $2,500 to create a "SciFile" on our website (www.sciencebug.org) to teach children how the small choices they make can add up and really m...

If I had $2500.00 1. I would buy a new laptop, I am sharing with my Husband. 2. I would stock up on hats and flowers (for every hat sold, I donate one (1) to a little girl with cancer) 3. I would have a website created. This website is so great! ...

Building a Brand -- When To Take the Next Step?

Hello, Doers. I hope that you are all enjoying the season. Fall in New England is truly unbelievable. I am blessed to live in an area of such beauty.

I am so fortunate to work with brides and their families. I am grateful to every bride who puts her trust in my work and selects a Nutfield Weaver item for… Continue

Doers of the Week -- What Would YOU Do with $2500?

My boys asked me (half-jokingly) what I would do if by some stroke of luck I won $2500 for my business, Nutfield Weaver. As I sat in the dentist's chair getting a crown put in (how fun is that?!), it did give me something to DREAM about!

Here's what I'd do:

1) I'd buy my own laptop computer. Right now I'm sharing with the kids.

2) I'd take a class on digital photography. I sell online; I need to improve my skills. I'm a big believer in continuing education for everyone.

3) I'd invest in luxu… Continue

Newsflash! Asking for help is okay!

I am so pleased that there are several brides out there who would like to include a Nutfield Weaver item or two in their wedding ceremonies this summer and fall. As such, I've been pretty busy weaving for these young ladies and also for my own extended family members who are getting married this fall. The extra work has taught me a few things: a) I cannot make the day longer than 24 hours; b) having too much coffee has some distinct disadvantages; c) it is OK to delegate!

A case in point: I rea… Continue

Make your own sew-in fabric labels

Hello, Dreamers.

I finally came up with an easy, affordable way to label my handwoven wedding accessories and would like to share the information with all of you creative folks out there. No embroidery sewing machine is required! A few computer skills and a trusty ink jet printer -- and you'll be on your way!

I posted the information on my blog, www.nutfieldweaver.blogspot.com, but you can also copy/paste the link listed below into your browser.

Me?! The "Doer of the Week?!"

I have only recently stopped pinching myself after learning from Alexis T. that I was chosen to be featured as a "Doer of the Week!" As I told my friends from the Etsy Wedding Team, this is a big deal to a person from a relatively small town in New Hampshire. (Many of you may already recognize Londonderry, NH as the home of Stonyfield Farms Yogurt -- we are very proud of that here!).

I have been weaving for ten years. I fell in love with weaving the very first time I sat at a loom. I love the e… Continue
