Who doesn't love bubbles?

The children in shelters many times do not have the means to have some simple pleasures in life, like BUBBLES. Blowing bubbles = happiness in the air. www.EnchantedMakeovers.org

Hi Pamela,

I think it's so important for all of us to take a 'time out' everyday to sit and be still. When you slow down YOU WILL begin to hear your inner voice guiding you in the right direction.

How can I ever express in words the wonderful comments and encouragement? Thank you!

Jenny: I love your comment about courage and great love. When we can begin to love the person we were born to be then our greatness can emerge. Shine your light so others can be free!

Hello Terry, I love the fact that the sight of a polka dot pillow inspired you to create a new space for the womens' shelter AND to take your business to the next level as well. This just shows the true creative mind at its finest. It also shows that when we think in service of others, imagination has no bounds! Congratulations and never stop moving forward. Pamela Biesen

Melody, Love your ideas!! Enchanted Makeovers has been so blessed to have Donors who donate special products/items for the Women and Children. We make up special Pampering Goodie Bags for the Women of each Shelter Makeover Project. We even have a group who hand make beautiful tote bags for the Women. Each Woman also get a pair Pj's, comfy robe, slippers and a journal. Girls Scouts and Church Groups have been ever so kind to make blankets, nap quilts and dolls for the children, not to mention the donations of books and toys. It is a wonderful, incredible moment when we get to present these things along with the Makeover of the bedrooms. Everyone gets to feel pampered and Special!!

Terry,

One of the simple elements of humanity seems to be how we can enhance in the smallest way, anothers outlook on life, with a sincere smile, a "you first" in the grocery line, OR with something directly impacting a child, whos grace, or disgrace will affect all of us, just as we impact everyone in our path.

One of the ways we use to enhance in a simple way---- the lives of women and children in our community is this:

1. "Have a good day" and "Celebration" bins, baskets or boxes-- at the farmers market, health food store, church, school and synogogue.

Here's how it works:

1. Everyone clean out their suitcases, bathroom drawers... and place the hotel lotion, shampoo, conditioner and mini toiletries in a baggie to drop in the bin, basket or "Have a Good Day" box. (one baggie per "set") you can put a tag "hair stuff" bath stuff, kid stuf...

Guess how many of us have NEVER used soaps, conditioner and lotion that smells and feels really good??

2. In the "celebration" box: the baggies contain the 8 napkins and plates that match from the last baby shower, holiday or birthday party, whatever is somewhat co-ordinated even if it is in a wacky way,

---all of the "speed racer", batman and superhero naps can all go together for someone elses child who may never have had something like this for their birthday, include all of the three, five or single "take home" party gifts so that anothers child can have cool stuff to give away at their party; girl stuff all together can be mixed and matched by ages, or colours.

Put fun candles by the 6-12- or whaterver you have mark the bag so that another parent, hurried to get a cupcake or treat, can place a candle upon the top to wish upon.

We also do the same sort of thing at holiday times, with gift wraps, ribbon and ties, and tags..(I have lots left over in wierd combinations, which can be sorted to come up with a theme, such as-- teddy bears, angels or green and silver, for anothers gifts) especially when I have gotten into a theme wrap for an event which I may not use again, even a yard of paper with the cute tie and tag can be thrillingly used by another who needs just the amount for a special someones gift. (get big baggies for this, you can see what is inside, tell them how much paper (two feet)... so they will know if it is for a small, med or large gift, )

In the community newsletter of your organization, ---create a two week drive for these things and bring to your local womens shelter, childrens home, daycare... and just imagine the parties, soft hair and skin, and special gifts..that someone could take advantage of, perhaps smelling like a rose the day they apply for their first job?? Have their childs third birthday, or sisters wedding gift as beautiful as they could imagine, now that affects us all!1

Blessings to you Terry and all who bring a smile and bit of confidence to our sisters everywhere!

Melody
