My name is Erin Newkirk and I am the CEO and Co-Founder of Red Stamp, a social commerce company on a mission to make relationships stronger, one personalized postcard at a time. Red Stamp is best known for our award-winning, top 1% performing app that is free in the iTunes App store. Always a fan of making people feel good, I believe modern etiquette isn’t about fancy stationery and using the right fork, but kindness and authenticity. {Much to my husband and son’s dismay, this doesn’t mean they are off the hook for penning prompt thank you notes.}

Thank you for this opportunity to nominate myself for this honor and for the ability to connect with other women who are creating, building + doing.  So inspiring!

My name is Michael Setboun. I am thirty two years old and moved from Paris, France to Panama City Beach, FL about two years ago.  I have a doctorate in Pharmacology, and previously worked for pharmaceutical companies in Miami and France.  After living in Miami for a couple of years, I wanted to come back from France to live in the United States.

I have had the opportunity to buy an old school in Alford, FL, about forty miles north of Panama City, Florida.  I realized this was my opportunity to fulfill my dreams and live in the USA.  It may seem a little cliché, but I have had "The American Dream" since I was a child.

I have spent countless hours transforming this seventy-five year old schoolhouse into a luxurious boutique bed and breakfast and event center.  The name of the Boutique Bed and Breakfast is La Maison de Lucy, which means "Lucy's house"... Lucy is my mother!  I have spent my savings, plus more, on this tremendous project.  Today I am more than eager to promote this venue.   The concepts of the Boutique Bed & Breakfast as well as my personal story are very different and unique.  Each of our twelve spacious suites represents a different country around the world, providing an educational experience (each suite is equipped with travel guides, cookbooks, music, and literature of the country it represents for guests to enjoy) for our guests as well as the ultimate relaxation, as we have everything on site to accommodate our guests’ needs including a pool, sauna, massage room, and gym.  We also do all of the cooking from scratch using fresh organic products, introducing our guests to exquisite French and Italian-Inspired Cuisine.

I have provided a few video links below that showcase some of our suites.  Videos of every suite can be viewed on our website.  If you are interested in receiving any further information, please feel free to call me or email me.  One must visit to truly experience the luxury and grasp the unique concept.  I have been working through countless struggles with the people from the area in this tiny town, as I am considered “a foreigner” here since I am from a completely other country, thus making it extremely difficult to reside here.  Sometimes I just want to just throw my hat in because I have been faced with more challenges than one could believe.  However, going through these countless struggles also gives me fuel to succeed, which I know I will once word is spread about this gem “La Maison de Lucy.”  Winning Doer of The Week would be such a great honor and help me in knowing that all my tremendously hard work day-in and day-out is worth it!  PLEASE consider me as your next DID.  Thank you, and I very much hope to hear from you.

Regards,

Michael Setboun

Hello Everyone,

I would like to be considered for Doer of the week.

My name is Linda Calder - And I have been dubbed The fine living muse for New England Fine Living by one of the pr firms I work with.  I am a party planner, consumer event promoter, stylist, interior designer, and marketing consultant for small business owners.

Location: Massachusetts

Business Name: New England Fine Living

Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/newenglandfineliving

Twitter: https://twitter.com/NEFineLiving

Web Site: http://www.NewEnglandFineLiving.com

Blog: http://www.finelivingmuse.blogspot.com

Date joined was in 2011

I am currently going through a rebranding with the move of my life and business to a new area.  With so many interior designers, I am allowing myself to focus on my passion and a large part of my business which is parties and styling.  I joke that I planned my own first birthday party and have never stopped.  Clients hire me to create cocktails for events, come up with themes, produce consumer trade shows, fundraisers, create unique decor, or to consult them on visual merchandising and social media marketing.  I am currently working on a 2013 event & gala that will benefit "Go Red" the American Heart Associations campaign to share knowledge on women and heart issues.

Kudos to all of the other women business owners out there!

I blog daily over at http://partycraftsecrets.blogspot.com.au/ about the craft that I design, make, photograph and sell in themed party planning ebooks.  I am soon to celebrate my first year of trade; it's been a steep learning curve, but I've loved every minute of it.

Thanks for the opportunity of nominating myself.

COLORADO MOM BECOMES “ROCK” STAR

Thank you for the opportunity to submit my nomination for Dreamers into Doers. I’m a 53 yr old Mom of 4 boys…an 8 yr old and triplet 7 yr olds. I’ve had a career in corporate communications for almost 30 years and then… My oldest son announced he wanted a geology theme for his 6th birthday party. I immediately said yes. I created a game board, ordered the needed rocks, set the date, sent out the invites, and as the day approached, started thinking… "What have I gotten myself into this time!" . From this first family adventure, “ROCK ON!” was born…the game I created for my son’s 6th birthday wish. We all had great fun playing ROCK ON! that day at the party. Many months passed and after lots of work on the game, and invaluable input from educators, I proudly introduced ROCK ON! to the public.

After pursuing many different marketing avenues with the product, wholesales sales are taking off and I am absolutely thrilled to see my dream coming true. I also have to say that reading all the DID success stories really helped me keep going at times.  So thanks DID and...Play, Collect, Learn, Smile and ROCK ON!

Comment by Amanda Zettel on June 13, 2012 at 11:53am

My name is Amanda Zettel.

I live in Boston and today is my very first day here at 'Dreamers into Doers'!

I'm the founder and principal designer for Homemade Design, America's leading online interior design firm.

After graduating from Parsons The New School for Design there was never a dull moment working as a professional interior designer creating beautiful spaces for millionaires and billionaires.

However I found myself giving out an entirely different kind of design advice to my friends and family.  My girlfriends didn't need full service consultation and project management at $250 per hour. What they needed was a trusted friend to help them pull it all together. I'd help define their style, share sources, send fabric samples and answer a myriad of design related questions. When they fell in love with furniture, fixtures or finishes I'd save them a ton of money with my designer discounts from trade sources.

In the last year Homemade Design has welcomed more than one thousand new clients and we are just getting started making affordable professional interior design services available to a much larger demographic of design clients.

I would be thrilled if you'd visit my website at HMDhome.com, drop by our page on Facebook or check out our online interior design blog.

Hello the house. My name is Kateri Ewing and I live among the fields, forest and creeks of Western New York. Writing is my passion, a part of my livelihood, and my dream. In 2007 I began to write a blog called Unweaving the Nest, and in January 2011, after losing my job, I decided to turn my blog into a subscription-based online magazine. First there was one subscriber.....and then it grew. Sixty-eight weeks later I am sending out my weekly magazine to 113 readers on four continents. It is not enough to support me financially (yet!), so I work at many different jobs to get by, but my main love and my biggest dream is to turn my writing and photography into a career. My dream is to grow my "Nest." I have been writing professionally for many years, including for national magazines and for my local newspaper, but writing for the Nest each and every week is like my love letter to the world.
