Comment by Leslie Janson on June 1, 2012 at 9:58am Although I am a "newbie" this year to DID, I have been steadily working on my Etsy shop for a few years now. I repurpose vintage textiles and notions into home goods and jewelry in my studio with my faithful studio assistant, Sarah the yellow lab. Both the high quality and the local stories that vintage materials have to tell - inspire me. Repurposing and giving new life to these materials in our modern homes - intrigues me. I have been lucky to have been published in Country Living, This Old House Magazine, Romantic Country Magazine, and others. Here is my info:

Comment by Celeste Cataldo Hude on May 22, 2012 at 8:04am Dear Dreamers to Doers,
Thank you for the opportunity to nominate myself for “Doer of the Week”.
This is such great forum to express our dreams.
I joined Dreamers to Doers in 2009, and would love, love to be considered for “Doer of the Week”.
My dream business is designing and sewing fashions for women, using antique lace and linens.
I am passionate about being “green” for the environment and for the preservation of these timeless heirlooms.
I had been working for a major retailer in the alteration department for 13 years, when it was announced they would be closing this department. I viewed this as a window opening, and decided to take this opportunity to work my dream full time. So I took a rental space in our local antiques mall where I sell my clothing.
This year, I completed another chapter in my business life with my “web store”
I am also on:

With Pitter Pattern Designs, I aspire to make fun and beautiful bath products with high quality oils and butters. Working with color is something I love, which is evident in my soap and packaging. A lot of care goes into the design and execution of each soap and body product I make. It is particularly rewarding for me to make custom favors for events. I customize colors, scents, and even labels. In the end, it is all about creating a gift giving experience that is enjoyable, whether for others or for yourself. I love what I do, and I hope it shows.
Thank you for your consideration.

Hello! My name is Mirlette and the owner of Socuties.
Like many of us I started my business to help bring so money while I was staying at home with my 2 girls.
I came to USA with my husband when he had the oportunity to work here in California and by then I quit my job of 9 years.
Since I was a little girl I love to craft, my grandparents teach me with love the art of crafting and the patience of creating something new and beautiful with your own hands.
I love to paint, crochet and now my passion is to create cute accessories for girls and moms totally inspired by my own kids. That is when Socuties was created!!!
I started selling my jewelry that is totally fun and personalized and then my hairclips, that I just love to create and look the faces of my girls when I show them the final product.
I look forward to keep SoCuties grow and help those princesses look even cutier.
I am totally a dreamer, but more a doer!!!
Comment by Michael Setboun on April 22, 2012 at 10:32am My name is Michael Setboun. I am thirty two years old and moved from Paris, France to Panama City Beach, FL about two years ago. I have a doctorate in Pharmacology, and previously worked for pharmaceutical companies in Miami and France. After living in Miami for a couple of years, I wanted to come back from France to live in the United States.
I have had the opportunity to buy an old school in Alford, FL, about forty miles north of Panama City, Florida. I realized this was my opportunity to fulfill my dreams and live in the USA. It may seem a little cliché, but I have had "The American Dream" since I was a child.
I have spent countless hours transforming this seventy-five year old schoolhouse into a luxurious boutique bed and breakfast and event center. The name of the Boutique Bed and Breakfast is La Maison de Lucy, which means "Lucy's house"... Lucy is my mother! I have spent my savings, plus more, on this tremendous project. Today I am more than eager to promote this venue. The concepts of the Boutique Bed & Breakfast as well as my personal story are very different and unique. Each of our twelve spacious suites represents a different country around the world, providing an educational experience (each suite is equipped with travel guides, cookbooks, music, and literature of the country it represents for guests to enjoy) for our guests as well as the ultimate relaxation, as we have everything on site to accommodate our guests’ needs including a pool, sauna, massage room, and gym. We also do all of the cooking from scratch using fresh organic products, introducing our guests to exquisite French and Italian-Inspired Cuisine.
I have provided a few video links below that showcase some of our suites. Videos of every suite can be viewed on our website. If you are interested in receiving any further information, please feel free to call me or email me. One must visit to truly experience the luxury and grasp the unique concept. I have been working through countless struggles with the people from the area in this tiny town, as I am considered “a foreigner” here since I am from a completely other country, thus making it extremely difficult to reside here. Sometimes I just want to just throw my hat in because I have been faced with more challenges than one could believe. However, going through these countless struggles also gives me fuel to succeed, which I know I will once word is spread about this gem “La Maison de Lucy.” Winning Doer of The Week would be such a great honor and help me in knowing that all my tremendously hard work day-in and day-out is worth it! PLEASE consider me as your next DID. Thank you, and I very much hope to hear from you.
Regards,
Michael Setboun

Hi there! I am Britny and the owner of Lola Wraps. I am a stay at home mommy to 2 beautiful children and a military spouse. When I was a young girl my grandmother showed me the ins and outs of sewing. Back then it wasn't something I was very interested in. It wasn't until I had my daughter that I suddenly found this creative side of myself I never knew existed. I took this creativity and put it all in to creating unique hair wraps for all ages. In the last year my business has grown immensely but so did I. I have gained such a sense of accomplishment and self worth from owning my own business. I appreciate this opportunity!!

Hi there- I am a mama of four, first and foremost. Before this, I was an elementary teacher. I decided to start my blog and site on etsy to share some of the items I had been making for my kids. Since starting my business in September (which I didn't even share with my family or friends), I have been honored to have my party styling featured on some amazing site: Amy Atlas, Hostess With the Mostess, Project Nursery, Pizzazzerie and Tip Junkie to name a few. Some of my most viewed projects have been Bunny Bait, Leprechaun Lunch and Blow Me A Kiss Gumball Tubes- which was pinned over 10,000 times on Pinterest. Being A Doer of the Week would be beyond my wildest dream! Martha has been my idol for the past 20 years, since I bought her first book Entertaining as a gift for my mom. I was 12. Thanks for considering me!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Amanda Thompson and I live in Bothell, Washington. I am striving daily to be a true Dreamer Into Doer! Over the years I have tried the typical juggling act: full time job, growing family, and still find energy to create and promote these tank style baby bibs. With the support of my family, I have started creating Maddy Wear products full time and hope to share them with the world!

These tank style bibs are meant to add style and fun to what has traditionally been an overlooked part of a child's wardrobe.
They are comfortable (flannel lined), can be securely fastened, and don't need to be pulled over the head. They also have no designated front and are reversible, so one bib can be used four times, which supports and eco-friendly lifestyle.
I am proud to be a part of this DID community and appreciate the opportunity to participate and learn from others.
Thank you!

Comment by Alyson Beaton on March 24, 2012 at 9:20am Hi everyone, I'd love to be the doer of the week for my lille huset doll houses! I am so excited to be introducing these to this community. I have had so much fun following my dream for the past year and am thrilled to be a member of this community. I have made a doll house for little doers- yep all of our little creative kids who can't wait to get their hands into designing and decorating their very own home. The best part is they start to build community too!
