Ive done may commission with my art. Here is how I like to work. Get the materials, make a beautiful piece. Make it in a way that you love and know would sell otherwise. Set your price as you normally would. Your customer has first right of refusal. If she does not love it, you are not stuck with something that you cant sell. I find this clears my mine to create (in my case paintings) art that stands the test of time and not someones whim. Hope that helps.

The raw materials that I will have to purchase for what she wants will cost about $27. Any idea how to price a special order? Since I have to go out and purchase specifically for this request, do I ask for half payment up front? Any advise would be much appreciated.
