Has anyone used the publicist company, Orca PR?  We were contacted by them and wanted to get some feedback.

Thank you.

Jane, this group was for the January 2011 DID event, which is over. You might get a better response in a more suitable group like Sew Sisters.

I am amazed at how much Dreamers into Doers community has grown in the past year! Best wishes to all attending NY. Brrrrrrrrr.  A bit cold right now.

Hi everyone!

Just want to wish all my "Sisters" a safe trip to NY. Enjoy yourselves, stay safe and I hope to share your adventures and photos when you all return!!!

Wish I could be there to meet you all!

Jean, I am very much in the same boat as you. It seems like when I have time to devote to my KitchenKuff business I don't have the $ and when I finally have the $, because I've been working my butt off at my other "must do" jobs, I just don't have the time. It's a delicate balancing act that I have yet to master. And I will welcome any help and suggestions :-)

There seems to be a lot of advice for people facing the tremendous challenges of juggling business with children, home and spouse -- much needed!

But here's a different need -- I'd love to hear advice for those of us who struggle with one income and find we must divide our time between our "dream" business and "must do this other thing (grrrr) to pay rent right now."  Anyone else in a similar boat?

My number one need for information is about blogging.  There are so many blogging "tutorials" out there, some free, some paid, but I'm having trouble figuring out which ones are guiding me to a respectable way of doing things and the proper etiquette when reaching out to other bloggers.

Hi Nancy - business casual is the best. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes. There is a lot of walking in NYC.

Personally, I am not a jeans person, so I don't wear them. But, if YOU look good in them, by all means, feel free to wear them :)

Caitlin already posted on one of the groups that we would be busy from about 8am right up to dinner time -- so arriving the night before is best .... I'm sure the schedule will be posted soon ....

How to find/contact vendors? Do you go around contacting everybody? or Do you find and contact them when you get the clients and/or do you introduce yourself to vendors in advance so they know you may be using their services in the future? I also want to learn more about proposals and event planning fees. :)
