I want to make the switch to wordpress from blogger and I was wondering if any of you have done this on your own before. I really do not have the $$ to hire someone right now but I feel a wordpress site would be more professional and before I make it big [ because I will someday :) ] I want to have an established blog/website in place. I already pay for my own hosting (that I am not using yet) and I have my own domain.

Do any of you have links to tutorials on making the switch?

As always thank you ladies!

Ginger,

I have a free course that is on this and I set it up for authors but it could work for anyone. It takes you step-by-step and it is free. This I think, is just what you need to be able to do it yourself. Go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/Writer-to-Reader-Networking/151647081....

Give it a try. It is free so you can't loose.

Hmm, there have been many bloggers that have done this before that I have seen so I'm sure that you will do just fine :D
I really have to say I know a lot of people using wordpress over blogger, but for me, it's blogger all the way.
Blogger definitely seems easier to use. I have love how wordpress looks more like a website and has all of the amazing plug-ins but blogger is just so simple. Sometimes keeping it simple works.
I've been on wordpress since i started.  And I was gonna ask people if they thought Blogger was better? lol  I'm really not sure the differences between the two.
If you have the time to learn wordpress then I would go that way.. If you do not have the time then you need the money to invest in wordpress... I have neither so I am sticking with Blogger..

I also think a big part of my decision was I already have a website I just needed a quick and easy blog.. If I was going to make my website and blog the same then I would have invested the time and money into wordpress :)
